【3月15日 AFPBB News】Japan’s up-and-coming label TENDER PERSON presented a collection of evolutionary fashion at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO 2023 A/W on March 15, marking their first participation in the biannual event.
Models donning hoodies and checked shirts with eccentric painting designs were sashaying on a U-shape runway decorated with white flowers that were supposed to be discarded as the quality or size is out of standard. The flowers were presented to the audience after the show.
Designers Yuto Yashige and Bianca jointly launched the brand in 2014 with a concept: “To freely and constantly pursue and express.” The label was honored as TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2023.
“Having faced negative feelings like a nightmare, I wanted to express the thread of a dream on the stage of a runway show and see its epilogue together with people involved in TENDER PERSON,” Yashige said after the presentation.
Yashige also said that fashion is not necessarily the production of something easy to wear.
“I always try to design, considering that people can be excited or try to be fashionable when they wear something neatly and go out,” he said. (c)AFPBB News
